Something Special for Those Waist-deep in Weddings

If you haven’t noticed, EVERYONE is getting married this month. This past weekend, 10-10-10 marked one of the most popular wedding days of the year! To separate themselves from the pack, some couples seem to love playing with ways to personalize and customize their special day. For a few years now, ordering cupcakes instead of the traditional wedding cake has been one popular way for couples to accomplish this goal. Companies like Butterfly Cakes in Burlingame, CA do a great job at creating a beautiful arrangement of fancy cupcakes that can stand on their own, or accompany a cake. Cupcake Royale is a great option for cupcake fanatics in Seattle, as well!

Though cupcakes are not going out of style any time soon, I thought we’d take a look at another increasingly popular option –obviously, my favorite topic –food trucks! Worried a food truck will take away from the class of your Big Day? Bring the definite crowd pleaser around after the reception for a late-night snack option for guests.

From a post-bash late-night snack, to a main feature of the reception (dessert, anyone?), food trucks have you covered! For you Californians, In-n-Out has been a staple for those seeking an unconventional reception meal. Though this mobile truck leaves behind the fries and milkshakes, you can get your burger any way you like it- amazing! Not to worry if you have not had the pleasure of tasting an In-n-Out burger, (Can’t miss what you’ve never had, right?) this trend has also reached Chicago and Seattle. Chicagoans are lucky to be served by Happy Bodega, while  Seattle folks can enjoy a post-ceremony burger from Skillet, famous bacon-jam and all. Another option for the Seattle area is Marination, which specializes in Hawaiian and Korean cuisine.

The moral of the story is that you don’t have to look far for ways to put a personal twist on your wedding feast. You also don’t have to be a country bumpkin to feature a food truck at your wedding. Riding out on a lawn mower is another story…

I would like to hire a food truck to cater my wedding…which will be held in a hall. I’m definitely concerned about it bringing the “class” factor down. Also concerned about how to keep the flow going since people are going to be lining up outside to get their food. SIgh!!
