Fresh from the Farmer’s Market: Salad of Avocado, Orange and Black Olives

Salad of Orange, Avocado, and Black OlivesAmazing avocados are currently in-season here in California. We stopped by the farmers market this week to indulge our craving for this favorite pear-shaped pleasure. Beyond a standard guacamole or California roll, avocados make refreshing spring salads when balanced with sweet citruses and Kalamata olives.

Make our spring-into-spring Salad of Avocado, Orange, and Black Olives on your own, or come see Executive Chef Bibby Gignilliat demonstrate this dish in person at the San Francisco Ferry Building Farmer’s Market:

“Market To Table” – Meet the Farmer & Cooking Demonstration

DATE: Saturday, March 8th, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

Will Brokaw of local farm Brokaw Nursery will be supplying his best avocados and oranges for the demonstration. He’ll also be on-hand to answer any burning questions you might have about your favorite fruits. For more information about the class visit our calendar.
