Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my food trucks. And August brought us some amazing food truck festivities, like SF’s Street Food Festival and Oakland’s EatReal Festival. It only seems right, however, to look into the next big thing in food service as we move on into September. As fun an idea as it is to say, BUSTAURANTS might take mobile dining to the next level- literally.
These buses are prime examples of differentiation among mobile food vendors. World Fare, the very first bus of this new craze, is a stationed double-decker that has a small roof-top dining area on the second level. Diamond Lil, a refurbished Greyhound bus that slings free range BBQ in the East Bay, takes you for a ride during your meal. Finally, Le Truc is a beautiful, classic yellow school-bus expected to open its doors to the San Francisco public in a few weeks.
Though World Fare only debuted in LA this past March, other bustaraunts have been hot on their trail. Diamond Lil has already made a name for itself, and Le Truc is creating quite the buzz following its appearance at the EatReal Festival. Keep an eye out for BUSTAURANTS coming to a parking spot near you!
